A Leap to House and Harmony

My Start....
Hi, I am Claudia Davis, Founder and Interior Designer at House and Harmony.

Let’s say that growing up in a furniture maker’s family you learn a thing or two. My family business works very hard making gorgeous one of a kind custom furniture pieces. I say, I was lucky to be practically raised in my family’s furniture manufacturing company, since I was unintentionally trained very early on in the field. I’ve been surrounded by fabrics, furnishings, and design since birth. It was there that I learned the importance of good work ethic and discipline, design of commercial and home furnishings, and a lot about business management. It was also there that I fell in love with the idea of becoming an interior designer.

I was trained at the School of Art and Design at San Diego State, with an emphasis in Interior Design and Art History. In my opinion, interior design is an art form. A way to express and evoke emotion of those that live within the space. It's about improving the human spirit and creating functionality and beauty in the space.

How I Got Here….
My work experience has a vast mix of business management and interior design. A big part of my life, I’ve worked on the family's business, navigating operations, financials, project management, logistics and sales. However, I’ve always fallen back into Interior Design, sometimes being a full time gig, other times just a side hustle. There’s something very gratifying in helping people improve the spaces they live in.

After years of working for other firms, and watching the way others put their passion and craft to work, I realize it was my turn to follow my passion and open my very own design studio. While there were many details to figure out for my new venture, I was pretty certain of one ideal. The vision for my brand.

My ideal is to create a brand that offers style and functionality, yet keeps it REAL! It’s important to me that the tone of my business is a reflection of who I am. I don't want to pretend to be something, or someone that I am not. Therefore, keeping things simple is the direction I want. An easy to work with interior design service with straight forward processes and options. Also, the brand needs to be flexible in the products and services being delivered. Staying true to my values and standards, which means offering a service that is meaningful, and one that offers quality every step of the way. Also, I want to service my clients with transparency and clarity. And, above all I wanted to offer accessibility! I want to provide a service easily affordable by a variety of people with different budget levels.

The Vision…

So, House and Harmony was born! And, my vision became this:
I decided to open House and Harmony with the intent to deliver an interior design service that is functional and stylish, practical and luxurious, while keeping things simple. Just an easy and accessible interior design service to work with. My desire is to make House and Harmony as meaningful and affordable to all budget levels.
