Las Vegas Market 2019 Recap!!!

Las Vegas Market 2019

Whatever happened to "What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas"? I couldn't do that to you, and you probably wouldn't want me to hold back on all my findings either!

I just got back from LV Market, and I am back to work inspired, full of energy and ready to put to use all the incredible resources I connected with while I was there.

Although it was a quick three-day trip, it was still very productive!  I walked an average of 5-6 miles a day, looking for the latest trends in home furnishings and décor for my clients.

Seminars are also a must at this event, since some of the most influential leaders in the design community participate in educational panels on trends and news related to the industry. So, you bet your heart I attended a handful of them!

World Market in Las Vegas is the largest showroom complex in the world, 5 million square feet of showroom space to be exact.

Inside the complex, you will find 4,200 lines of home and hospitality furnishings, accessories, textiles, lighting, flooring, and gifts. These lines have products with all the major retailers, such as Macy’s, Living Spaces, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, Wayfair, and so on.

Every year designers and buyers flock to the desert to catch up on the latest trends in home décor and place their bets on what is to become the hottest items for retail. Each showroom was a happy party, and welcomed me with a spread of appetizers, lunch and drinks. Vegas style, baby!

Mesmerized by so many different products, and still trying to make the most out of my time. Each building is composed of 16 floors, and there's two of them, plus a smaller one, with permanent showrooms, and consists of  only 10 floors. How do you tackle this daunting task you ask? Start and the top and work your way down!

Trends

Trending this year: furniture with exposed natural wood grains. Some styles are purely rustic, and others refined with a stylized look.

Velvet sofas and chairs with super sleek shapes, curves and organic outlines.

The shaggy look is still pretty big this year! I saw stools, chairs, pillows, rugs and even a shaggy ornament sheep! I named this one "Harry". :)

Millennial pink is still a pretty dominant trend, and saw it paired with lighter greens, darker grays, blues, and at times even saw it complemented by jewel tones, creating contrast for a more dramatic feel.

Lots of furniture pieces with metallic silver and gold finishes. Get ready for more marble top tables.

Bohemian influences were everywhere, including the legendary folk-like inspired textiles, rattan pieces, and beaded lamp fixtures and pillows.

My favorite seminar was by Tom Mirabile with Pantone Color Institute. He connected color to a more human level, relating to culture, and the influences our community has on dictating future color trends.

We’ve known for a couple of a months that Living Coral is the color of the year for 2019. A gorgeous mineral pink, which will complement most grays, blues, and greens.

If you ask me how Market was....My answer is, " SPECTACULAR!"

It’s a humbling. educational, and energizing experience. A place to meet and mingle with other professionals, learn from movers and shakers in the design community, and to experience firsthand the newest trends. All, so that I can better service and meet all my clients' needs. I am very blessed for being there!

House and Harmony is already looking forward to Market 2020!
